Emmanuella maragos Zachariou is a first generation American filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist of Greek heritage whose work explores the intersections of memory, spirituality, hidden truths, and embodied experience. Her visual language is deeply rooted in gnosis, poetry, religion, and visual distortion often working with experimental approaches to explore themes of her own encounters beyond the veil. Her deep passion for music and sonically driven forms of art is embodied into her process, and plays a deep and integral part of her daily inspiration. She has directed (and shot) a multitude of music videos and films that highlight her distinct artistic voice. She is passionate about using filmmaking as a tool to express that in which cannot be spoken, and believes in the power of filmmaking as a ritual to awaken and accentuate creative authenticity.
